Nymphaea "MARIA" Group Chamaenymphaea

Parentage: Nymphaea Mexicana was one of the Parents

Description: Flower - 130 mm to 170 mm diameter. Petals tips extend to 60 mm from
horizontal . Sepals and first few Petals extend below horizontal by
approximately 50 mm.
Flower is raised above Water level by approximately 60mm to 80 mm.
Sepals - 4 Lanceolate acute 57 -65 mm long, 25 mm wide.
Colour Green on outer surface (146A to 146B) with red stripes on the edges
(55B), base is light yellow (2D).
Colour Light yellow on the inner surface (2D) with red stripes on the edges
(55D) but occupying a smaller area than the corresponding red on the outer
surface. Occasionally green at top. Approximately 11 lines rise from bottom
to top.
Pedals 30 to 36, 1st to approximately 17th are lancelote acute, 17th onwards are
lancelote obtuse. 1st 10 63 mm to 67 mm long, 20 mm to 22 mm wide, colour
yellow (4D). The first 4-6 Petals have a red flash present.
11th to 31st 62 mm to 42 mm long, 15 mm to 20 mm wide, colour yellow (4C).
32th to 36th 35 mm to 42 mm long, 15 mm to 19mm wide, colour yellow (4A or 4B).
Stamens 63 to 66, 10 mm to 38 mm long, 1 mm to 7 mm wide.
Anthers colour yellow (9A), Filaments colour yellow (7A)
Styles 10 to 12 colour orange (25B). Stigmatic centre Yellow (14B)
Peduncle smooth , Colour light green-yellow group (146B), Pubescence absent.
Air channels 4 main ones with 8 smaller outer ones.
Fragrance Strong, sweet.
Leaves Orbicular, average size 175 mm * 180 mm, Largest 230 mm * 240 mm,
Smallest 135 mm to 140 mm.
Sinus overlapping, slightly mucronate.
Mature leave underside Brown (177A) with blotches of (200A).
Petiole Green (146C) or (146D), Pubescence absent.
